Really like this song Andy, works so well with the video. My only thoughts on changing anythings would be that after the short instrumental bridge, I felt it was slightly subdued and perhaps it could be built into more of a crescendo,. It seemed to me like it should be a battle cry.

God bless

Sorry Andy, I've only just viewed this videa, having been very busy lately.

I really like this version. I also like yours, but I think it really works well with the more up-tempo. It's repitition would make for easy involved praise.

God bless

The video conveyed the nastier side of this tourist attraction without the need to be explicit. Your song, as Toadie said supplied the answer. You guys brought some light into this dark side of the city. Blessings. Arthur

It's Faye here...
My thinking in the change to an upbeat tempo: It's for celebrating the fact that we have been forgiven...traded up, so to speak. Liturgical churches allow time at the beginning of worship for silent confession with a minister who then declares our sin absolved b/c of the work of the cross. Charasmatic churches don't really have that process, but usually launch into praise right at the start. So this song is trying to accomplish both: position the believer to "come clean" because of the blood of Jesus at the beginning of the worship service while entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.
If you'll go to my website or myspace and give me your emails, I can send the chord chart.
 Thank you for responding!
Blessings,
Faye Smith

Certainly a different direction than the original. I like the chorus - very good lyrics and ideas / images. Although I ask the question - 'does the up-beat rhythm fit a repentance song?' - maybe it does. The chorus certainly works but I'm struggling with the verses being done 'full tilt'.

I love the song. The video is very appropriate. Rewriting the story… Yes, Lord. That is one thing that Brian McLaren is calling the songwriters to do – writing missional songs. I wholeheartedly agree.
